Nigerian producer Tempoe has received Spotify’s plaque for one billion streams on CKay’s “Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah),” which he produced. The 2019 hit is recognised as the first solo Nigerian song to pass one billion streams on Spotify. Its global rise was driven by viral social-media traction and international remixes. Tempoe, who shared photos of the award, has also produced major Afrobeats songs including Victony’s “Soweto,” Joeboy’s “Alcohol” and Omah Lay’s “Soso.” The milestone highlights Afrobeats’ continued global reach on streaming platforms.
