Soludo Orders Immediate Sack of All Political Appointees as Second Term Begins

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has relieved every political appointee in his administration of duty, directing them to hand over to Permanent Secretaries or the most senior civil servants by the close of work on March 18, 2026. Members of the outgoing first-term cabinet are invited to meet the governor on March 23 at the ANSEC Chambers in Awka. This move aims to maintain continuity in governance until a new cabinet is formed. Sworn in for a second term at Alex Ekwueme Square, Soludo praised recent gains in security and economic activity. Vice President Kashim Shettima, former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, and other dignitaries attended the ceremony.
