Zonal CID Cracks Down on Notorious Armed Robbery Gang in Kano

Detectives from the Zonal Criminal Investigation Department, Zone One Headquarters in Kano have arrested four men linked to a violent home invasion in Hotoro Yandodo Quarters. On 18 May 2024, a group of armed men stormed the residence of Yunusa Haruna Aliyu and made off with a 2015 Honda Accord, mobile phones, jewelry, luxury wristwatches and other valuables worth millions of naira. Acting on intelligence and under the direction of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, officers apprehended three principal suspects—Yakubu Adamu (aka Danfulani), Abubakar Hassan (aka Baba) and Barhama Ayatullah (aka Mai Zangi)—along with Abdulgaffar Sidi (aka Abdul), who received the stolen phones. The stolen vehicle was traced and sold in Maradi, Republic of Niger. Police say efforts are ongoing to recover the car and arrest remaining syndicate members. The AIG reiterated the Zone’s resolve to investigate all criminal cases thoroughly. Suspects will be charged when the investigation concludes, and the public is urged to provide credible information to aid crime prevention.
