Chief Jude Ezenwafor, the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate for the 2025 Anambra election, was shot by unknown assailants in Abuja on Friday night. The attack occurred in the Wuse 2 area as he returned home from an appointment.

Ezenwafor is now receiving emergency treatment at an undisclosed Federal Capital Territory hospital. From his hospital bed, he described the incident as a near-death experience and said doctors are preparing to remove bullets from his body.

His media team confirmed he sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed straight to surgery. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, but the PDP campaign says the matter is with police and under investigation.

In a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, Princess Dr. Chetachi Ecton Nwoga led the WIN Foundation’s free medical outreach for children in Garki, FCT, on July 5, 2025. The U.S.–based NGO offered vaccinations, health screenings, and treatments for common childhood illnesses.
