Sergio Busquets Starts Coaching Career With Barcelona’s Reserve Team
Former Barcelona and Spain midfielder Sergio Busquets has returned to the Catalan club to begin his coaching career. The 38-year-old will work with Barça Athletic, Barcelona’s reserve side, as part of manager Juliano Belletti’s staff while completing his coaching badges. The reserve team now competes in Spain’s fourth tier after dropping two divisions since 2018. Busquets and Belletti will aim to develop players for the first team and secure promotion back to the third tier. Busquets joined Barcelona as a teenager in 2005 and went on to make 722 senior appearances, winning nine La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies. He also won the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012 with Spain before ending his playing career at Inter Miami.
