Ghanaian Pastor Arrested for Alleged Attempt to Bury Infant Alive
A pastor in Abofrem, Ashanti Region, Ghana, was arrested after eyewitnesses spotted him and an accomplice at a refuse dump with a five-month-old baby. Neighbours raised the alarm when they saw the pastor preparing to bury the child alive. An eyewitness intervened and found the infant still breathing. He alerted residents, who rescued the baby before any harm occurred. The suspect had earlier told the village chief the child was dead, prompting plans for a burial. The baby girl is now receiving treatment at a government hospital. Ghana Police have taken the pastor and his accomplice into custody and investigations are ongoing.
