Norway Files Ethics and Governance Complaints Against FIFA President Infantino
The Norwegian Football Federation has submitted separate complaints to FIFA’s Ethics Committee and Governance, Audit and Compliance Committee over concerns about the conduct of FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the organisation’s decision-making processes. The federation wants the committees to examine possible political interference in disciplinary matters during the recent World Cup cycle. It specifically questions the conditional lifting of an automatic one-match ban on United States forward Folarin Balogun after external communications. Norway says the filings are part of its long-running calls for greater transparency, accountability and separation of powers within world football. The committees will now consider whether FIFA’s ethics rules, internal controls and governance procedures worked as intended.
