FG Targets 5 Million Young Nigerians for Skills Training and Poverty Reduction

The Federal Government says its National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy aims to help five million young Nigerians build sustainable livelihoods through technical, vocational and entrepreneurship training. The programme has moved from the FCT to Oyo State, where 200 participants are receiving training in graphics and artificial intelligence, makeup artistry, and fashion design. The Oyo phase runs from September 28 to October 9. Officials say 500 tablets will be distributed during the programme’s grand finale. Participants are also expected to receive tools such as laptops, sewing machines and makeup kits to help them start businesses or secure work after the training. The initiative is expected to expand to other states and geopolitical zones, with beneficiaries linked to business and employment opportunities.
