Former Kano LGA Chairman Returns to Tailoring After Losing Seat

Abdullahi Gali Shitu, a former chairman of Kumbotso LGA in Kano State, has returned to tailoring after a court ruling ended his tenure in March 2026. He says the trade that supported him before politics remains a more dependable source of livelihood. Shitu runs a tailoring shop in Sheka ward, where he supervises apprentices and produces garments. He says the business employs about 20 people and helped fund his earlier political activities. The former council chairman wants young people to see dignity in skilled work. Despite holding degrees in Political Science and remaining active in politics, he says his priority is to modernise his tailoring business, build a garment company and create more jobs.
