Manchester United Surrender Two-Goal Lead to Brighton in League Cup Exit

Manchester United crashed out of the League Cup after Brighton completed a 3-2 comeback win at Old Trafford. Shea Lacey scored his first United goal before Mason Mount made it 2-0 inside 10 minutes. Brighton hit back through Charalampos Kostoulas before half-time, then Pascal Gross equalised in the 65th minute. Maxim De Cuyper scored the winner five minutes later as United’s defensive errors proved costly. The loss is United’s third in six matches this season and their second successive home defeat. Brighton had also knocked United out of the FA Cup at Old Trafford in January, making this their second cup elimination of the club in nine months.
