Obaro Petitions APC NWC Over Alleged Irregularities in Kogi Central Primary

Momoh Y. Obaro, Kogi Central senatorial aspirant and APC UK secretary, alleges gross irregularities in the party primary held on 18 May. He has asked the party to cancel the exercise or declare him the winner. In his petition to the Kogi Central Primary Appeal Committee and the APC National Working Committee, Obaro cited procedural breaches, violence and the participation of an unqualified candidate. He claims his agents recorded authentic figures showing he scored 44,270 votes against 20,092 and 1,985 for his opponents. Obaro also accused the returning officers of absconding and later presenting concocted results. He submitted photographic and video evidence, plus police reports of assault, to support his case. He is urging the NWC to either recognize the authentic vote counts or order a fresh, transparent primary overseen by neutral security agencies and properly accredited INEC officials.
