Aubameyang Equals Ibrahimovic’s La Liga Five-Match Scoring Record
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored Deportivo’s equaliser in a 1-1 draw away to Getafe, extending his scoring run to each of the opening five La Liga matches of the 2026/27 season. The Gabon international is the first player since Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Barcelona in 2009/10 to score in the first five rounds of a La Liga campaign. He is also only the 11th player to achieve the feat. Aubameyang’s five goals have helped newly promoted Deportivo begin the season unbeaten and move into sixth place with nine points. Barcelona’s Raphinha had the chance to match the run but did not score against Levante, despite providing two assists in a 4-2 win.
