Troops Kill Suspected Terrorist, Recover Rifle and Ammunition in Sokoto

Troops of the Forward Operating Base in Binji, Sokoto State, have killed a suspected terrorist during an operation in Soruro village in the Tangaza area. The Army said the troops responded to a distress call at about 1:30 a.m. on October 12, 2026, and later engaged the suspects at about 5:00 a.m. One AK-47 rifle, a magazine and 27 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were recovered. Security forces said operations to disrupt armed groups in the area are continuing.
