How African 'Sell-Outs' Betray Our Quest for True Independence
I argue that so-called "sell-outs"—puppets or Judas Goats—have held Africa back from real freedom. They lead our people and resources to foreign interests, while preserving their own safety and wealth. First, many top business leaders open our markets and lands to foreign exploiters. They profit from extractive deals that leave communities in poverty and degrade the environment. Second, some religious teachers keep the masses passive with hopeful prayers rather than empowering critical thinking. They often reinforce colonial mindsets instead of promoting a theology of liberation. Finally, our political class signs away resources and defends neocolonial policies. Stopping these three groups requires zero tolerance and collective action in both Africa and the Diaspora.
