COOUTH Introduces Emergency Care Packs to Reduce Treatment Delays
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka, has introduced Emergency Care Packs to help health workers begin treatment faster for patients brought in with critical conditions. The packs contain essential consumables and selected medicines for maternal, adult and paediatric emergencies. They are intended to bridge the gap when patients arrive before relatives can buy needed supplies or complete registration processes. The hospital said the initiative will allow clinicians to provide immediate, appropriate care while families arrange additional requirements. During a visit by COOU’s 2026 medical graduates, the Chief Medical Director also encouraged young doctors to prepare for opportunities and said some may be considered for housemanship placements as vacancies arise.
