Abuja Man Remanded for Alleged Neighbour Stabbing
An Abuja High Court has ordered that 32-year-old Israel Friday be remanded in a correctional facility over an alleged stabbing incident involving his neighbour. Prosecution counsel told the court Friday stabbed Theophilus Edache during an argument in Angwan Tiv, Lugbe. Edache suffered a severe injury to his left hand, which was later amputated. The charge of attempted culpable homicide was filed under sections 229(1) and 248 of the Penal Code. The defendant pleaded not guilty and is seeking bail. Justice Idris adjourned proceedings until May 13 to rule on the bail application and set a date for trial.
