Two former Derbyshire Police call handlers, Jessica Fitzhugh and Ellie-Mae Doherty, have been jailed for improperly accessing confidential police records connected to men they were dating. Doherty, 22, received 11 months in prison after passing information about a planned police drug operation to her boyfriend. The court also heard that she shared details of another incident involving a smashed window. Fitzhugh, also 22, was jailed for four months for accessing police information out of idle curiosity. Both women had undergone vetting and signed declarations about associations with people involved in crime before joining the force. The judge said they ignored clear training and guidance on handling sensitive police information.
