Port Harcourt Targets 10,000 Runners for 2026 International 21km Marathon

About 10,000 runners from Nigeria, West Africa and East Africa are expected to compete at the 2026 Port Harcourt International 21km Marathon on November 14. Organisers say the event, themed “Green Race,” will combine road racing with environmental campaigns, youth development and tourism promotion. Planned activities include community fitness sessions, clean-up exercises, tree planting, a Green Symposium and a School Green Club initiative. The marathon is intended to promote healthy living, climate action and Port Harcourt’s profile as a sports and tourism destination. Registration, race-route, volunteering and sponsorship details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
