Bishop Kawas Alleges Terror Sponsors Are Targeting Tinubu’s Government

Archbishop Leonard Bature Kawas of the Charismatic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria has alleged that some people are sponsoring banditry, kidnapping and terrorism to discredit President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Speaking on a television programme, Kawas defended the conference’s endorsement of Tinubu for a second term. He said the endorsement was not influenced by money and that the group believed Tinubu remained the right candidate to support. Kawas compared the allegation with the insecurity experienced under former President Goodluck Jonathan. He claimed, without presenting evidence during the interview, that similar acts were used to damage Jonathan’s government.
