NYSC Must Review Posting Policy as 19 Corps Members Are Reportedly Kidnapped

I am deeply concerned by reports that 19 corps members have been kidnapped, with kidnappers allegedly demanding a ransom. Young Nigerians have already lost their lives to banditry, terrorism and kidnapping. Our highways are unsafe, yet corps members are still posted across long and dangerous routes. NYSC must treat their safety as an urgent priority and review a posting system that may expose them to avoidable risks. Why can graduates not be allowed to serve closer to their states of residence or in safer locations? NYSC should introduce a new policy that protects corps members and puts their lives first.
