Love or Benefits: Do You Value the Person Beyond What They Provide?
Wanting beauty, sex, money, security or commitment does not automatically mean someone is being used. These are normal things people may want in a relationship. The real question is whether you still value the person beyond what they provide. A user focuses mainly on the benefits: sex, money, status, attention or lifestyle. As long as those things continue, everything feels sweet. A lover may enjoy those benefits too, but values the person more. When money disappears, beauty fades, sex reduces or life becomes difficult, love asks, “How is my person doing?” Love is not about having no needs. It is about a relationship becoming more than a transaction.
