Education Minister Alleges NECO Questions Were Sold to Candidates for ₦3,000 Before Exams

Education Minister Alleges NECO Questions Were Sold to Candidates for ₦3,000 Before Exams

Education Minister Tunji Alausa says some NECO examination questions were allegedly leaked and sold to candidates before scheduled papers, including a case in which candidates reportedly paid ₦3,000. Speaking at a meeting with private-school proprietors and other education stakeholders, Alausa described the scale of examination malpractice as disturbing. He said leaked materials from the 2025 examination period were sent to him and later verified by examination officials as genuine questions. The minister warned that the practice disadvantages candidates who study honestly and could pressure them into cheating. He urged parents, teachers, school owners, principals and invigilators to work together to protect the credibility of public examinations.
