Carragher Backs Haaland to Challenge Messi and Ronaldo’s Goal Records
Jamie Carragher believes Erling Haaland could become football’s greatest goalscorer after the Manchester City striker scored twice in a 2-0 Champions League win over Porto. Haaland has now scored 364 career goals in 424 matches. At the same age, Lionel Messi had 348 goals and Cristiano Ronaldo had 219. Ronaldo is currently on 979 career goals, while Messi has 929. Paul Merson urged caution, noting that longevity and maintaining elite form will be crucial. Haaland, however, remains confident in his scoring ability and is one Champions League goal away from surpassing Sergio Aguero as Manchester City’s top scorer in the competition.
