Police Rescue 13 Kidnap Victims, Arrest Over 40 Suspects in Nationwide Operations
The Nigeria Police Force says it rescued 13 kidnap victims, arrested more than 40 suspects and recovered weapons during operations across several states within 24 hours. In Ogun, six Gateway ICT Polytechnic students were rescued during a joint police and DSS operation. Police said three suspected kidnappers were killed, while an AK-47 rifle, phones and ₦2.3 million were recovered. Five victims were rescued from Anuka Forest in Enugu, while two children were freed during an operation against bandits in Katsina. Police also reported arrests linked to an alleged IPOB/ESN hideout in Imo, ATM fraud in Ekiti, one-chance robbery in Rivers and a suspected kidnapping plot in Plateau. The Force said the operations were driven by intelligence and urged Nigerians to continue providing credible information to security agencies.
