Stanbic IBTC Pension Contacted Me at an Unused Email – How Did They Get It?

I recently opened an account with Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers and didn’t receive any confirmation to the email or phone I provided. Instead, they sent a welcome message to an address I never shared with them. I only use that email for foreign transactions, like PayPal, and never for local services. I searched that inbox and found no prior correspondence from Stanbic IBTC Bank or PFA. Now I’m concerned my information may have been snooped on. Can anyone explain how they might have obtained this email address without my consent?
