Grieving Widow of Oyo Teacher Begs FG to Recover Husband’s Remains
Mrs Mary Oyedokun, widow of late teacher Michael Oyedokun, has appealed to the Federal Government and security agencies to help retrieve her husband’s body for a proper burial. The couple lived in Ahoro-Esiele, Oyo State, where Mr Oyedokun taught Mathematics at the local community high school. He was among several teachers and pupils abducted when armed bandits attacked schools in Oriire Local Government Area. Reports say 46 to 48 people were kidnapped during the coordinated raids. A video of the teacher’s gruesome killing sparked nationwide outrage and calls for stronger security measures. State and federal authorities, including the governor and the president, have condemned the barbaric act and promised intensified operations to rescue remaining captives and bring perpetrators to justice.
