Nigeria, USA and Brazil Set Record With Ever-Present U-20 Women’s World Cup Run
Nigeria’s Falconets will join Brazil and the United States as the only countries to have featured in every edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup since the competition began in 2002. The 2026 tournament will be held in Poland from September 5 to 27. Nigeria will make their 12th consecutive appearance after competing in all previous editions, including when the event was known as the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship. The Falconets’ best performances were runner-up finishes in 2010 and 2014. They have played 48 matches at the tournament, recording 22 wins, 10 draws and 16 defeats. Nigeria are drawn in Group F for Poland 2026 alongside Spain, China PR and New Caledonia. The expanded 24-team competition offers the Falconets another chance to pursue their first world title.
