Why Jesus Calls Us to Follow Him: Lessons from Matthew
Good morning, friends. Today we reflect on Jesus’ invitation to follow him, as he did with Matthew at his tax collector’s booth (Matthew 9:9–13). Like Matthew, we are called out of our old lives to become disciples and share God’s mercy with others. Through Christ, God reveals his glory and sustains all things (Hebrews 1:1–3). Adam’s disobedience brought condemnation, but Jesus’ sacrificial act offers forgiveness and righteousness for all who believe (Romans 5:16–19). Transformation happens as we draw near and obey Jesus fully. When we follow him, the Holy Spirit shapes us into his likeness (2 Corinthians 3:18). If you’re ready to accept his call, pray sincerely, confessing Jesus as Lord and committing to grow in a Bible-believing community. May you experience renewal and abundant life as you follow our Savior every day.
