Lagos Child Abuse Case: Conflicting Medical Reports and Alleged Intimidation

A three-year-old girl's alleged sexual assault in Ejigbo, Lagos, has drawn urgent public concern. The Ambassador for Peace and Enlightenment Foundation (AMPEF) took up the matter after a distress call on March 20, 2026. An initial medical exam at a local centre reportedly diagnosed an infection. AMPEF case manager Neye Solomon questioned this finding when the child was later found bleeding and unwell. He said no comprehensive tests were conducted before the child was discharged with medication. With approval from the police Gender Unit, the child underwent a second evaluation. Doctors then reported injuries consistent with sexual penetration, directly contradicting the first assessment and highlighting the need for urgent treatment. The child’s mother claims she faced offers of money and physical assault to drop the case. AMPEF has returned the matter to the authorities and called for a transparent probe. Advocates are urging stronger safeguards and full accountability in minors’ abuse cases.
