Tinubu Hails Rescue of 308 Kidnap Victims in Kwara and Niger
President Bola Tinubu has welcomed the rescue of 308 people abducted in separate attacks in Kwara and Niger states. The victims include 163 people taken from Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State and 145 others from Niger State. They were rescued from the Kainji Lake National Park forest in Niger State during an intelligence-led operation involving the military, DSS, police and the National Counter-Terrorism Centre. The rescued victims are receiving first aid and medical care at Wawa Cantonment. They will be handed over to their state governments for further support and reunification with their families after medical evaluations. The President praised the security agencies and directed them to strengthen early-warning systems, community intelligence and rapid-response measures to prevent further kidnappings.
