Super Eagles Begin Uyo Camp as Okoye Awaits Arrival Ahead of Madagascar Clash

The Super Eagles held their first training session in Uyo on Tuesday ahead of Friday’s AFCON qualifier against Madagascar. Twenty-three of the 24 invited players took part, while goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is still expected in camp. The team said Okoye was granted permission to attend to personal and family matters and is expected to arrive on Thursday. Captain Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze and Stanley Nwabali were among the late arrivals for the session. Taiwo Awoniyi has joined the squad as Victor Osimhen’s replacement following the striker’s injury. With Osimhen unavailable, attention will turn to Eric Chelle’s likely attacking choice and who starts in goal against Madagascar. Should Awoniyi lead the line, or should Akor Adams, Tolu Arokodare or George Ilenikhena get the nod? And who should start in goal: Nwabali, Arthur Okonkwo or Okoye?
