Landlord Held After 23-Year-Old Nursing Student Found Dead in Anambra
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested the landlord of an apartment where a 23-year-old nursing student was found dead. Officers say visible injuries on her body suggest foul play. The victim, Chiamaka Chilaka, was a second-year national diploma student at the College of Nursing Sciences in Alor. She returned from a church service on Sunday and was discovered lifeless in her rented room in Uruezeani, Idemili South. A video circulating online shows a cleric wailing and crying out, “My daughter,” as neighbours recount how Chiamaka had rejected unwanted advances by her landlord. They say an argument broke out shortly before her death. The Commissioner of Police has transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for a full-scale probe. Authorities have urged anyone with information to assist the investigation and assured the public that justice will be served.
