Lagos Igbo Community Passes No-Confidence Vote in Sunday Udeh, Backs Chinye
Stakeholders of the Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos have passed a vote of no confidence in High Chief Dr. Sunday Udeh and affirmed Chief Chukwudi Gift Chinye as President General at an emergency General Assembly in Surulere. The stakeholders cited alleged constitutional breaches, weak financial accountability, disputed traditional-title coronations, election irregularities and unresolved factional disputes among Eze Ndigbo councils. They called for all allegations to be examined by the appropriate constitutional authorities, with fair hearing for every party involved. Chinye announced a 90-day reform plan focused on restructuring the leadership, improving financial transparency, reviewing the conferment of traditional titles and restoring unity within the community. The Board of Trustees had not issued an official response at the time of the report.
