Nigerian Man Criticises Use of Religion to Control Women in Marriage

A Nigerian man has said he would rather see a woman remain single than enter a marriage that threatens her dignity, freedom and happiness. He criticised men who use religion to justify controlling, disrespecting or abusing their wives. He argued that women should not be pressured into unions where they are constantly unsafe or unhappy.
