Tunde Onakoya-Backed ₦250m Scholarship Opens for NYSC Members and Recent Graduates

Applications are now open for a ₦250 million scholarship fund backed by chess master Tunde Onakoya, tech influencer HackSultan, and other partners. The programme is designed to help Nigerian youths gain in-demand digital skills, with selected beneficiaries also standing a chance to receive free laptops through a separate weekly giveaway. According to the organisers, the scholarship is open to serving NYSC corps members, prospective corps members awaiting deployment, and recent NYSC graduates. Successful applicants will receive ₦10,000 to cover the application fee and ₦150,000 toward tuition for a globally accredited diploma programme in their chosen tech field, bringing the total support to ₦160,000 per beneficiary.

A scholarship fund for digital skills could open real doors for many youths, especially with recent graduates included.

The idea sounds good, but I hope the selection process stays transparent so the support reaches the right people.
