NAFDAC Warns Nigerians About Suspected Fake Oracire+ Toothpaste
NAFDAC has warned consumers about a suspected counterfeit toothpaste, Oracire+, reportedly being sold in Nigeria as the registered Oracare+ toothpaste. The agency said market surveillance at Ojuwoye Market in Mushin, Lagos, found that the suspected fake product closely resembles the genuine brand in packaging and presentation. It warned that the product may not meet required quality and safety standards and could pose health risks. NAFDAC has directed its zonal directors and state coordinators to investigate its distribution and take regulatory action. Consumers are advised to buy toothpaste only from authorised outlets, inspect packaging carefully and report suspected counterfeit products to the nearest NAFDAC office.
