Nigerian Man Arrested Over Girlfriend’s Murder in Gambia
A 35-year-old Nigerian man, Audu Williams, has been arrested by the Gambia Police Force over the murder of his 41-year-old girlfriend, Esther Tango. Her body was found on July 7, 2026 in a bush between Kitty and Siffoe villages in the West Coast Region. Detectives from the Suba Ward CID Unit, supported by the Crime Scene Investigation Team, confirmed Esther’s identity after finding her Nigerian passport in her Brikama home. Witness statements, crime scene examination, and telecommunications analysis led investigators to Williams. Williams later confessed to luring her to Kitty on the night of July 6, 2026, where he allegedly committed the offence and abandoned her body. He remains in custody and will face prosecution under Gambian law once investigations conclude.
