INEC and Nigerian Air Force Strengthen Partnership for 2027 Election Security
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have renewed their commitment to securing the 2027 general elections. During a courtesy visit by Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke to INEC’s Abuja headquarters, both sides discussed ways to enhance logistics, security coordination, and operational support. Air Marshal Aneke assured INEC of continued rapid airlift and security assistance for the distribution of electoral materials, especially in remote or difficult terrains. He noted that while some C-130 aircraft are under maintenance abroad, alternative aircraft will be deployed to meet election needs. Beyond transport, the Air Force will offer Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance capabilities to boost situational awareness. Both INEC and the NAF stressed their shared commitment to professionalism, neutrality, and inter-agency cooperation to ensure free, fair, and credible elections.
