Rufai Oseni Questions Wike’s Claims of Electoral Influence Ahead of 2027

Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni has challenged FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s claims of political influence ahead of the 2027 elections. During a discussion on Wednesday, Oseni questioned why Wike did not defeat Atiku Abubakar for the PDP presidential ticket in 2022 if he commanded the level of support he often claims. Oseni also raised questions about the delayed declaration of Rivers State’s 2019 governorship result and referred to a BBC report that disputed the official 2023 presidential election tally in the state. He argued that politicians should not equate claims of having electoral “structure” with broad public support.
