TG Omori Opens Up on Kidney Failure, Failed Transplant and the Cost of Dialysis

Music video director TG Omori has spoken about living with kidney failure and the financial burden of long-term treatment. He said he spent more than six months receiving care in Ikoyi and waited nine months to find a suitable kidney donor. Although several people offered to help, his brother eventually donated a kidney. Omori said his body rejected the transplant despite further medical efforts. He also described the cost of dialysis, saying some sessions can cost between ₦50,000 and ₦70,000, while private treatment may be far more expensive. With some patients needing dialysis several times weekly, he said the cost makes survival difficult for many Nigerians without strong financial support. Omori's experience has renewed attention on kidney disease, organ donation and the affordability of specialist healthcare in Nigeria.
