Shooting Stars opened their 2026/27 NPFL campaign with a 2-1 victory over newly promoted Inter Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. The result ended 3SC’s four-year wait for an opening-day league win. Lucky Emmanuel gave the hosts the lead in the 15th minute, but Damilare Adigun equalised seven minutes later to score Inter Lagos’ first goal in the top flight. Sodiq Ibrahim restored Shooting Stars’ lead in first-half stoppage time. Inter Lagos pressed for another equaliser after the break, but 3SC held firm to secure the points and the early bragging rights after days of social-media banter between both clubs.
