Could My New Mattress Be Causing These Symptoms?
I began experiencing tingling, pain under my feet, body weakness, foamy urine and stomach discomfort around the time I bought a new foam mattress. I also had a heavy feeling on the side I slept on, arm fatigue, shaking and difficulty balancing. Medical tests, including urinalysis, stool tests, an ECG and a full blood count, did not give me a clear answer. I did not initially suspect the mattress. However, I repeatedly felt better when I travelled, slept on my couch or used the guest-room mattress. After spending about a week away from the mattress, the tingling and foot pain stopped. I could also eat pepper again without the stomach discomfort I had experienced for months. To rule out my bedroom, I moved the same mattress to the parlour and slept on it there. The symptoms returned. My fiancée, who used it less often, has also mentioned mild tingling, muscle pulls and leg pain, although I cannot confirm that the mattress caused her symptoms or mine. I have not had the mattress professionally tested, so I do not know whether the issue is its materials, chemical emissions, support or something else. Has anyone had similar symptoms after buying a mattress? Please seek medical care for weakness, shaking or balance problems, as these symptoms can have many causes.
