Lagos DSVA Condemns Viral Video of Family Shaming Child Over Bedwetting

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has condemned a viral video showing a mother and her children publicly mocking a young boy for bedwetting. In the video, family members reportedly take turns saying they do not wet the bed before the boy is made to identify himself as the child who does. The agency described the treatment as verbal and emotional abuse. The DSVA stressed that bedwetting may be beyond a child’s control and should never lead to ridicule, humiliation or public exposure. It urged parents and caregivers to provide children with safety, support and positive parenting.
