The Wisdom of Forgiveness: Finding Grace After Deep Hurt
Forgiving someone who has wounded, betrayed or disappointed us can be one of the hardest parts of Christian living. God’s Word does not dismiss the pain of wrongdoing, but calls believers to reflect the grace they have received. Colossians 3:13 encourages Christians to forgive one another as Christ forgave them. This does not mean pretending that the offence was acceptable or abandoning accountability. It means refusing to let hatred and revenge control the heart. Through passages including Romans 12:19 and Matthew 6:14, the Bible teaches that justice and forgiveness can coexist. Forgiveness is a continuing choice to release personal vengeance and trust God with what is beyond our control.
