Turaki-Led PDP Faction Reaffirms Claim to Cross River Leadership

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party in Cross River has restated its claim to the party’s leadership in the state ahead of a pending Court of Appeal judgment. Julius Udayi, the faction’s governorship candidate, said the group remains confident that the ruling will settle the leadership dispute and support its preparations for the next governorship election. Udayi also linked the resignation and subsequent defection of former state chairman Venatius Ikem to challenges within the rival faction. He urged party members and supporters to remain peaceful, united and patient while awaiting the court’s decision.
