Florida Couple Accused of Keeping Four Children in Truck Cab for Nearly Seven Years

A Florida woman and her fiancé have been arrested after authorities alleged that four children were kept inside the cab of a tractor-trailer for nearly seven years. Investigators said the children had not attended school for about five years and were denied regular medical, dental and hygiene care. They reportedly spent most of their time in the cramped truck cab, shared a small bunk and were rarely allowed out, including to use the toilet. Court documents also allege that one child was sexually abused and later diagnosed with an untreated sexually transmitted infection. The woman and her fiancé each face four counts of child neglect, while prosecutors are expected to consider additional sexual-battery charges.
