JAMB Ban on Mmesoma Ends: She’s Eligible to Sit for UTME Again

Three years after her controversial 2023 UTME result, the three-year ban imposed on Ejikeme Mmesoma has officially expired as of July 2026. She is now free to register for and sit the JAMB UTME once more. Mmesoma became a national topic when she claimed a score of 362 while JAMB maintained her authentic mark was 249. An independent panel later confirmed she had manipulated the result, leading to the withdrawal of her score, loss of a scholarship and a counselling directive from the state government. The saga ignited debates about examination malpractice, result verification and academic integrity across Nigeria. So far, there is no word on whether Mmesoma has re-registered or gained admission, but her case remains a reference point in discussions on fair practices in our education system.
