Police in Anambra State rescued a kidnapped electrician after a joint operation in Nnobi, Idemili South. Officers from the Rapid Response Squad and Agunechemba Vigilante Group stormed a bush camp in Umuezeala Awuda Village on April 18, acting on credible intelligence. Three suspects—Chidalu Obi (25), Chichebem Ojenigbo (26) and Chikannechukwu Eze (20)—were arrested. Authorities seized a locally made Beretta pistol and ₦469,000 ransom paid through a SportyBet account. The trio allegedly lured the electrician with a job offer before blindfolding him at gunpoint. They have confessed and further investigations are under way to identify accomplices. Residents are urged to support security agencies with timely tips.
