Tehran Mourners Pay Last Respects to Khamenei, Chant for Trump’s Death
Thousands of mourners filled Tehran’s Grand Mosalla on the second day of public farewell ceremonies for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Crowds chanted “Death to America” and held posters calling for the killing of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. A funeral procession is set for tomorrow in Tehran, followed by visits to the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf in Iraq. Burial will take place in Mashhad, the Supreme Leader’s birthplace. The bodies of Khamenei and family members killed in a recent strike will be honored along the route. High-profile figures such as Revolutionary Guard chief Ahmad Vahidi led the prayers alongside hundreds of thousands of mourners. Footage from state media also showed a small coffin for Khamenei’s 14-month-old granddaughter placed beside his during the rite.
