A Prayer for the Protection of Children Against Abuse

Hello everyone, I have been deeply disturbed by the rising cases of cruel treatment of children aged 10 and below. These include sexual abuse, domestic violence, abandonment and other forms of harm. Some recent cases are heartbreaking: children abused by adults who should protect them, babies abandoned in unsafe places, and young children suffering severe violence in their own homes. These incidents show how vulnerable children can be when parents, guardians and institutions fail in their duty of care. I understand that government agencies and public institutions have important roles to play. But I also appeal to Christians here to pray for God’s protection over children. They are innocent, vulnerable and often unable to defend themselves. May parents, guardians and communities be more watchful, responsible and compassionate toward every child in their care.
